Rewind 2015

Hey so we haven't sent any updates this year yet. Sorry about that one. But heres the year in review. Goes with the season anyway ;)

In the early weeks of January Eli still needed a short nap shortly after he woke up in the morning. So cute to see him sleeping.

Stacking those blocks. Tadaaa.

Visiting great Gradma.

His bed was one of the first things Eli learned to pull himself up on. And he loved doing it.

Family Picture time.

Adventures outside are the best.

Coloring eggs for Easter. Eli opted for playing hide and seek / peekaboo.

You might remember this little kiddy car I used to ride. Eli didn't really trust it enough to make it move forward much, but he sure did enjoy sitting in it.

Happy Birthday Eli. One year old already. He didn't feel like destroying a whole cake like I did on my 1st birthday, he was more modest. One piece of cake was enough for him.

Taking baby brother for a ride on the trailer.

First time wearing headphones, he was pretty weirded out at first but as soon as he knew what they were for... well you see the look on his face.

Ah, summer time.

It was Schützenfest weekend. Eli and I had so much fun watching all the marching bands go by near our house.

Summer days are the best. Lots of time to play outside and play silly games together.

This one day we went to Düsseldorf for Japan Day. We pretty much got rained on every step we tried to take. At least we had some yummy food though.

We were all invited to a wedding. Eli and I went in matching shirts. It was great fun, we especially enjoyed playing with the bubble machine all day and we even got to try some Sprite.

Did anybody mention how crazy Eli is about ice cream? I mean we all scream for ice cream, but Eli is definitely the loudest and first to get to the freezer. He would sometimes even start begging for some right after breakfast but he still had to wait. And boy was he happy when it was finally time.

Am I growing up quickly?

Cheers it's my birthday. Three years old now. Mom made me a Transformers cake, it was so cool. I still mention it to Daddy frequently.

Bring it in bro!

My friend from Kindergarden invited us to his birthday party. He even shared his new toys, so nice.

Why don't you know, a Gruffalo? We went to the Museum in Münster, they had an exhibition on the creators of the Gruffalo. There were lots of activities for little kids, great fun.

After the Museum we met up with Grandma at aunty's place. Eli had fun biting Grandma in the foot.

Our garden threw off quite a bunch of strawberries this year, and our friendly neighbor lady let us pick some from her garden too. We also sometimes went to the local farm where you can pick your own blueberries. The summer was total berry-frenzy.

Trips to the zoo were also in order. We seemed to have picked one of the hottest days to go there. But there was plenty of ways to cool off in between. Yeah you guessed it ice cream was also part of that.

Did Eli just order an Uber? Well I'm driving :)

Went Geo-Caching with Dad and his friend in Münster.

I fight for righteousness, be on guard.

We like going on walks. Daddy almost always has his camera on him. He doesn't want to miss the great shots. And good thing too, the sun was just lovely on this August morning.

Daddy started a new job in Amsterdam and we traveled with him. We had a great guest house too. Lot's of space to run around in circles around the couch. Can't even count how many laps we did around it.

There was an outdoor exhibition going on. Mom and Dad ate a hipster burger (local & grass fed beef) and we got lolly-pops. We got the better end of the deal I say. (Plus we also got to try some of the burger, yummy). There was also a mobile biologist station there where we could explore all the water critters from the nearby river.

A day at the dinosaur exhibit at the museum. I love dinosaurs, especially the T-Rex and Stegosaurus.

Taking a walk with Mom and Dad.

Autumn fun.

For Halloween Eli was supposed to be a dog, but he ended up looking more like an Ewok with Jedi force powers.

Mom had a monkey costume for me, but I wanted to be a monkey Transformer, so we combined both.

Made a lantern for St. Martin's Day. We do this every year as part of a father-child day in kindergarden.

Went out for a walk and stopped by to pet the ponies.

With holiday season coming up we love to make our "designer cookies". Eli keeps them pretty modest, but mine are usually a firework of different sprinkles.

Walkers gonna walk.

Walkers gonna walk.

We took a few days off to visit Center Parcs. It was very fun vacation. We loved the swimming park they had and the indoor playground was pretty sweet too. We also did a nature trail, where I learned all about the local animals that live in the woods in and around the park.

We would all like to end this year (And this post 😉) by wishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

It snowed today

When I woke up today everything was topped with an inch or two of snow. After breakfast I went outside with Dad. We built a snowman and then Dad got the sled out of the shed. There's a slight slope in our garden. Plus Dad gave me an extra pull for some added speed. We event built a little ramp. AIR TIME, woohoo!

Exhausted from all the fun I'm taking a nap now.
